Why Tell Stories?
Storytelling is what makes us human. We are the only living creature who has the ability to communicate through stories. Storytelling can foster inclusion and connection to others, build personal confidence and bring about change in our communities.
The Story Room allows audiences to connect to a storyteller; whether through humour, vulnerability or simply being open. Expect to laugh, cry, and perhaps be transported to new and unfamiliar places. Stories bring communities together, creating a sense of belonging among those who may think they have nothing in common with others. The experience is uplifting for the storyteller and the audience.
Come along and meet new people in a safe and friendly environment. Enjoy conversations and refreshments in the industrial-inspired in the hip, new Bucketty's Brewing Co. at Brookvale, and at 7 pm the room will come alive with stories, as six storytellers from different walks of life share their life experiences based on a theme, changing monthly.

I first discovered The Story Room by accident.
NSW Vouchers were expiring and there was a Facebook ad for this event the next night it was within walking distance to me, so I grabbed a friend, and off we went to Bucketty’s in Brookvale not knowing what to expect or what The Story Room was all about!
The venue is fantastic, the different beers on tap and there is a cute food truck out the back. One night was all that it took to hook me in as a regular. I love the quality of the stories, some funny bringing tears to the eyes and some sad also bringing tears to the eyes – but mostly they are inspiring, courageous, thought-provoking stories that lift you up and expand your mind.
The Story Room is an experience not to be missed!

It’s real …
Raw emotions overflow as Storytellers share their story. Karen’s Podcasts, often used as a “ test” before a live event ..are helpful to keep the standards of her prized Story Room at the highest level. Her “ shows” feature the very best in live engagement …evidenced by the wildly enthusiastic large audiences Story Room has been able to achieve and build on.
