LIAM CARROLL
Liam Carroll, the founder and editor/avian in chief of The Tawny Frogmouth magazine, embarked on this journalistic venture in response to Rupert Murdoch's decision to discontinue the Manly Daily's print edition in May 2020. Prior to his foray into the local publishing scene, Liam pursued a diverse career path. He initially trained as a physiotherapist at Sydney Uni before transitioning into the world of finance with a Global Markets traineeship at a Dutch investment bank. This journey led him to become a commodities trader, specializing in gold, silver, copper, and eventually fuel oil, with residences in Singapore and Shanghai.
Liam's multifaceted career took another turn when he turned his talents to writing. He authored novels such as "Slippery," delving into the intricate world of Asian oil trading, and "Sweet Dreams of Fanta," a nostalgic tale set in 1988, centred on the adventures of an 8-year-old, diehard Balmain Tigers fan with an unwavering fondness for Fanta. His rich and varied experiences have undoubtedly contributed to his unique perspective as the driving force behind The Tawny Frogmouth magazine.
